Explore the archaeological sites, museums and viewpoints, and spot wildlife such as elephants, giraffes and antelopes. Overnight at a lodge or campsite in the park.
Day 2: Enjoy a morning game drive in Mapungubwe National Park, and then cross the border to Zimbabwe to visit the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, another ancient African civilization. Marvel at the
stone walls and structures that date back to the 11th century, and learn about the history and culture of the Shona people. Return to Mapungubwe National Park for another night.

Then, head to Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, a wildlife sanctuary that rescues and rehabilitates animals such as cheetahs, rhinos and wild dogs. Take a guided tour of the centre and see the animals up close. Overnight at a lodge or guesthouse in Hoedspruit.
